People

The joint IMIM-UPF Research Programme on Biomedical Informatics is currently composed of more than 70 members, coordinated by Dr. M. Mar AlbĂ  (IMIM) and Dr Ferran Sanz (UPF). The programme is organized in 9 research groups and a management office. The 9 groups correspond to the main research lines of the programme: Computational Science, Evolutionary Genomics, Functional Genomics, GPCR Drug Discovery, Integrative Biomedical Informatics, Neurogenomics, PharmacoInformatics, Structural Bioinformatics and Systems Pharmacology.

The GRIB members' backgrounds are multidisciplinary: biologists, chemists, pharmacists, medical doctors, computer scientists, information technology specialists, etc...and a significant part of them come from foreign countries: Germany, Italy, UK, Argentina and others. Almost 50% of the team members are PhD students.

The management office includes economics, project management, legal, technology transfer expertise, IT support and IT systems administration.
