Position for a Research Technician at the Systems Pharmacology Group

The candidate will join a project aiming at constructing the largest integrated public database of small molecules covered by patents.

The Systems Pharmacology group led by Jordi Mestres, performs research at the interface between chemistry, biology and informatics to develop novel computational approaches to design safer, more efficacious, drugs. In this respect, the group is actively involved in several initiatives to explore the mechanisms of action leading to severe adverse drug reactions, with special emphasis in cardiotoxicity and hepatotoxicity, and to investigate the impact of the human endogenous metabolome on the efficacy and safety of drugs. Current efforts are focused on ultimately gaining a better understanding of drug polypharmacology in the context of biological systems as a means to advance towards precision medicine.

Location:  The laboratory is located in the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) which, with a privileged location on the shoreline of the Mediterranean sea, constitutes one of the most exciting interdisciplinary research centres in Southern Europe with more tan 1000 scientists in the building alone. The PRBB is more than just a research institution, it is a unique creative space that connects science and diversity. By becoming a member of its research community, the candidate will have access to conferences, networking opportunities and training events.

Project: Servicio de Propiedad Intelectual Química en el IMIM (CIPSI) (PDC2021-120938-I00) (Ref.: 14455). The cost of the contract is subsidized by the State Research Agency.

Tasks: Responsability for the development of the backend and frontend of a web-based application that will offer high-perfomance analítics tools for assessing the IP status of chemical spaces.

Studies: Degree in Informatics or any related field

Experience: Must have experience in backend and frontend development of web-based applications is highly desirable.

Knowledge: Angular version 2+, Javascript, HTML5, CSS, GIT, Postgresql, Automatic testing, UX Design is desirable. A high English level is a must.

Benefits: Part time schedule (20 hours/week), gross salary around 15.000 eur.
