Candidates for Ramón y Cajal and Miguel Servet Calls 2019 in the field of Human Computational Genomics

The Research Programme on Biomedical Informatics, GRIB, at the Hospital del Mar Research Institute (IMIM) and Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), in Barcelona, is seeking scientists interested in applying to the Ramón y Cajal and/or Miguel Servet 2019 program calls, which are expected to open soon. The contracts are tenure-track Principal Investigator (PI) positions at IMIM. After approximately four years there will be an evaluation, if it is positive the researcher is expected to be offered a permanent PI position at IMIM.

The profile of the candidate should be focused on the development of new computational strategies and software tools to interpret the human genome and help advance biomedical research. This includes, but is not restricted to, human population genetics, transcriptomics/ epigenomics-based studies, and cancer genomics. The capability of complementing the existing GRIB research groups, as well as the experience and interest in establishing synergic collaborations with clinical research groups, will also be valued.

GRIB is located in the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB). The researcher will have access to computational resources and equipment, as well as system administration support. Both Ramón y Cajal and Miguel Servet contracts include an start-up defined in the call.

If interested please write to Chus Donlo (chus.donlo@upf.edu) and Mar Albà (malba@imim.es), attaching a CV and a brief statement of research interests. We will do a preselection of the candidates and contact everyone before the calls open.
