Translational Knowledge Management

Workshop on Translational Knowledge Management in Pharmaceutical R&D

The workshop, organised by INBIOMEDvision and hosted by the Innovative Medicines Initiative, will take place the 11th and 12th of July in Brussels and aims at offering a forum for awareness, discussion and interaction between key stakeholders for the development and implementation of innovative concepts and tools for innovative and effective translational and integrative knowledge management (KM) in pharmaceutical research. The participants are key representatives of IMI KM projects and from other related projects also funded by the European Commission, as well as other experts from Europe, USA and Japan.

The programme will be composed of a series of short presentations and open discussions with the participation of about 40 invited experts. The following main topics will be covered:

  • Integrating information along the R&D pharmaceutical pipeline.
  • Automatic extraction of biomedical information.
  • Ontologies and standards in pharmaceutical knowledge management.
  • Systems biology and network analysis in pharmaceutical research.
  • Multiscale modelling and simulation in pharmaceutical research.

INBIOMEDvision is an european project of the 7th FP coordinated by the GRIB and aims to promote Biomedical Informatics by means of the permanent monitoring of the scientific state-of-the-art and existing activities in the theme, prospective analysis of the emerging challenges and opportunities, and dissemination of the knowledge in the field.
