CHEMOTARGETS SL: a new spin-off from IMIM is born

On Tuesday, March 28th, CHEMOTARGETS SL has been constituted as a spin-off initiative from the Chemogenomics Lab (CGL) of the Research Unit on Biomedical Informatics (GRIB), associated to the Municipal Institute of Medical Research (IMIM) and the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF).

Jordi Mestres, Head of CGL and President of CHEMOTARGETS SL, has expressed that the new spin-off is born with the aim to become a leading company in the field of In Silico Pharmacology. In this respect, CHEMOTARGETS SL will focus its research activities in two lines: Molecular Informatics, with the transfer of academic software prototypes to commercial products; and Molecular Design, with the application of its propietary tools to the identification of new molecular entities active to biological targets of therapeutical interest through collaborations with chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

Initially, CHEMOTARGETS SL will be located in the premises of the new building of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB).
