The GRIB is currently organized in six research groups.
In addition to the scientific personnel, the GRIB has a management office with three project managers, two IT managers and an specialist in technology transfer.
Ferran Sanz is the Director of GRIB.
Devoted to the computational analysis of genomic sequences and information. Senior scientists of this group are Mar Albà (IMIM-UPF-ICREA), Eduardo Eyras (UPF-ICREA), Núria Lòpez-Bigas (UPF-ICREA), Robert Castelo (UPF) and Roderic Guigó (CRG-UPF).
Dedicated to the analysis and modelling of protein 3D structures, as well as these of macromolecular interactions. Baldo Oliva (UPF) is the group leader.
Devoted to the development and use of modeling and simulation methods to understand biophysical phenomena. Gianni de Fabritiis (UPF) is the group leader.
Dedicated to the development of novel integrative biochemoinformatics methods and its application to the annotation of large chemical libraries to entire protein families of therapeutic interest. Jordi Mestres (IMIM-UPF) is the group leader.
Focused on the development and application of computational methodologies in the area of drug design. Manuel Pastor (UPF-IMIM) is the group leader. Jana Selent (UPF-IMIM) and Ismael Zamora (UPF, Director of Lead Molecular Design) are senior researchers of this group.
Dedicated to the generation and execution of research initiatives for the solution of biomedical problems based on the methods and strategies afforded in different GRIB groups. Laura I. Furlong (IMIM-UPF) and Ferran Sanz (IMIM-UPF) are the group leaders.
